Individual Psychotherapy
Individual psychotherapies such as CBT are talking therapies.
You get to talk things through and we create a way forward based on what you have identified as your most frequent one stumbling blocks. Your number one can often be the reason you don't seek help in the first place so be prepared for some life changing revelations. Once we identify your blocks and your desires we then create the shifts that work for you.
There will be some out of session work that would be beneficial to practice between sessions though this will be entirely up to you.
The more effort you put in the faster the results!
The aim is to get your thought patterns, feelings and behaviours to shift so you are more aligned with your true identity which will ensure your world works for you instead of against you. This is especially effective for people pleasers.
It reduces negative feedback loops, critical inner voices and overwhelm. You find over time you begin to function better, allowing you to take back control where you may have felt you previously had none.
People pleasing has you saying "yes" when you mean "no" it thrives on fear and a lack of self worth.
This generally comes from childhood experiences. We are labelled, we have beliefs about ourselves that are not true and do not match our genuine identity and we unfortunately live experiences that reinforce the labels and beliefs, so over time we come to actually believe it all and try our best to get the approval of everyone by never saying "NO". This is incredibly harmful because by saying "yes" to everyone else we are literally saying "no" to our own needs and happiness! We are starving ourselves and feeding others!
