Loss, Grief & Bereavement

Grief can manifest in so many unexpected ways; physical pain, agitation, irritability, tearful angry outbursts and impromptu laughter at the same time!

However it manifests it can be confusing, but most of all it can become overwhelming and for some, absolutely debilitating!

This process should not be underestimated. It can feel as though you are on a roller coaster of emotional isolated torture where no one in your world knows how you feel.

And you are right to feel that way because it is your pain. It is your loss. It is your grief but you do not have to go through it alone.

The experience of these complicated emotions coming at you often all at the same time, can throw you off balance and make you feel as though you are loosing your grip.

It's normal. One moment you may be singing and the next; sobbing. Whatever you are feeling give it the space it needs. Sit when you need to sit, lay when you need to lay, move when you need to move. Follow your feelings, there is no right or wrong way to grieve. And please bear in mind you cannot swallow down your grief to accommodate someone else's it will only prolong your pain and suffering. You are not being selfish by being with your own emotions before you help someone else 'be' with theirs.
